About Stephanie

b. 1986, HK.

I embrace every aspect of what it means to design and achieve a vision. It has taken years of success and failure to understand how each piece fits, but will always rise to the level the role, project and industry demands.

About Stephanie

I am passionate about design. There is nothing more exciting than the prospect of a new project; the chance to create a space that is totally unique to a person, family or business is incredibly meaningful and special. Each project is about encompassing who my clients are and expressing their vision in the best way I can. I often tease my clients that design is almost completely psychological, and we are all going to learn a lot from the process.

I was born into construction. That’s where my passion for custom design began. I always saw my dad working hard. He could make anything; it was like magic. He always made up part of everything he did, from measuring to space planning to building. Our house was always under construction.

My first project was to design a bathroom by converting a closet. My dad taught me how to measure and draw it to scale, and he took me to pick the tile. I remember him saying – “don’t worry about how much it costs, pick out what you love.” I still use this philosophy with my clients. It works. If you start with a concept and things you love, then it becomes a timeless part of your life.

I am still learning and challenge is something I embrace. I was a religious runner for over 25 years, pounding pavement mile after mile, in every city I’ve lived in. Running reminds me of the drawing process, creating and coordinating the vision end to end. The patience it takes to become a runner applies to the patience I’ve gained as a designer.
